Cocktail rings from Anthropologie
Very cool rings from Anthropologie made from natural stones, resin and Swarovsky crystals. They are like mini sculptures.

come Spring come!
I do love snow (only in small doses) but enough is enough! I long for warm, bright and long sunny days~ I want to put away the heavy sweaters and coats and wear light, pretty blouses and dresses =)
Here are some of my favorite Spring 2011 looks.

Creative Christmas Gift Wrapping
Only a few days left before Christmas and it's gift wrapping time! Usually I'm one of those who buy a generic gift wrapping paper and stick a plain ribbon. But this year I want to do something a little special, something that feels and looks handmade =)
While I was searching for some creative ideas, I came across some beautiful ones that I want to share with you. Wrap your gift with brown recycled craft paper and add a little found object or some doily for that romantic vintage charm. Or add cutout monograms or yarn pompoms for that colorful and whimsical look.

*New* at Plume & Petals Jewelry
Here's a preview of some of my new jewelry designs at Plume & Petals. Very earthy, natural and feminine with lots of pretty semi precious stones. I must admit that it isn't easy creating jewelry with a full time job but with a little time management and passion, everything is possible =)
I am having a special Dec 15-22 **Last Minute Christmas Sale 10% off. Use code: Falalala10**

Designer Spotlight: Michael Aram
I spotted these lovely pieces when I went to Bloomingdales the other day. They are by Michael Aram, an artist who works primarily with metal. The candles would definitely be a great Christmas gift. And the ornaments, aren't they just so sweet?

Thanksgiving Potluck
This year I will have two big Thanksgiving meals... Thanksgiving lunch, at my parents-in-law and dinner at my parents, oh my. This year, at my parents, it will be a potluck dinner since we will have a total of 14 people! I want to make a really nice dessert and these are the options I'm considering...
Pumpkin Cheesecake Pie (love the doily pattern), Thanksgiving Cupcakes, Cranberry Compote Layered with Lemon Ricotta or Pecan Pie. They all look delicious don't they?

Make a child smile this season
My sweet hubby and I spent some time together this weekend picking out gifts and gift wrapping them in a shoe box to be sent over to Operation Christmas Child. If you are not familiar, Operation Christmas Child is a program organized by Samaritan's Purse that collects shoe boxes filled with sweet gifts to give to children in impoverished countries all over the world. I think that there aren't many things we can do to change the world but this small gesture will be able to put a big smile on a child's face this cold season =)
